The Oldhams: a family.

July 28, 2008

On Saturday I was very nervous. All day I thought about the special session I had scheduled that evening. Some good friends of mine had asked me to do a family session for them. I usually don’t get nervous before sessions anymore but this one was extra special to me because I have known them for so long. Zac and I have known each other for almost 20 years! He was at my 13th birthday party and I have photos of us from Jr. High when I was taller than him…..and if you’ve met me you know that I’m not ever taller than ANYONE! I met Ronna when she and Zac got engaged and when Saylor and I moved back to Plano she quickly welcomed me into her group of friends. I held both of their babies when they were just days old and have watched them grow. Their oldest is one of Mia’s best friends. This was a special session for me.

And we had fun! They were so laid back…as always….and the session went just as good as I had hoped.

The Allens: a family.

June 2, 2008

On Saturday I met with some very dear friends at Prairie Creek Park in Richardson for some family portraits.  It was CROWDED!  That is a very popular place.  We saw several families, a few engaged couples, 2 brides, and an entire bridal party in a limo.

Here are my favorites:

The Manos: A family.

March 24, 2008

I met with a sweet and laid back family on Friday to get some pictures of the newest addition to their little family.  We had a great time and their house had the BEST light.

The Trevinos: a family.

March 18, 2008

Sunday afternoon was absolutely beautiful! I can’t think of a more perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon that at the Dallas Arboretum especially while Dallas Blooms is going on. There were tulips and amazing green grass EVERYWHERE! It was like a completely different country compared to the drab, boring, blah world outside of the Arboretum gates. I highly recommend it for a session. The only drawback was the amount of people there.

I met with a fun family to do a spring session. We had a lot of fun and I’m sure their little cutie was exhausted. He ran and ran and ran. It’s amazing we got any pictures of his face because he was always running away from me. But here is the proof that I’m tricky. I got some and here are just a few of my favorites.

Windy session.

December 5, 2007

That was the hardest thing about this session. The wind. I was afraid it would blow one of us into the canal! We managed to survive and even got some great pictures. With the exception of the wind this was a really fun session. See if you can guess which is my favorite. :)

Thanks guys! It was a fun Sunday afternoon.

Another beautiful family.

November 7, 2007

I’ve just realized that I have the most good looking clients in the world!  Just take a look at this family.  Georgeous!  5 yr. old Connor was not thrilled with having his picture taken, but I’m sneaky and got some great ones of him anyway. ;)  Hannah, with her beautiful Nicole Kidman red hair, should totally be a model!  She had it down.  I didn’t even direct her.  She just posed away!  We met up at Prairie Creek park in Richardson.  It’s beautiful with a waterfall and more!  Of course, since it is Christmas Card photo season it was NUTS.  There were so many people and photographers and it you weren’t careful you were in danger of being blinded by reflectors from every side.  We survived it though and here are just a few of my favorite images that we managed to get in the midst of all that busyness.  You would think there was not another soul at the park from the look of these photos, but believe me…..it was PACKED!

The Bogans: a family.

October 31, 2007

I headed over to The Bogan’s beautiful home on Sunday evening to get some family portraits for them. They just had an outdoor kitchen built in their backyard and it is awesome. I would love to have something like this in my backyard one day. It was a perfect place for their family portraits! We were going to build a fire in the fireplace, but I think everyone decided it was just too HOT! That’s Texas for you.

The littlest Bogan. She was not that thrilled with me, but I got some good ones of her anyway!

For this one I asked my model to look at my camera and not smile. I kept saying “whatever you do DON’T smile.” It worked like a charm. Look at the little giggle working it’s way out! :)

The Zimmermans: a family.

October 29, 2007

I have definitely entered the heart of the family Christmas portrait season! I have begun making lists to keep track of my to do lists. I will survive though and when we come out on the other side I will have met tons of new friends and made some great images for these families. That’s my Christmas wish ;)

Here is a fun family that I had the honor of spending time with on Saturday morning. We headed down to one of my favorite locations. The Mandalay canal in Los Colinas.

It was requested that I get mostly shots of their son and I was more than happy to oblige because this boy had the most BEAUTIFUL, sparkly blue eyes that I’ve ever seen. He is going to be a heartbreaker one day!

The Weavers: a family.

October 26, 2007

It’s been a crazy week.  My calendar is getting so full I practically need someone to decipher all the writing and corrections on it.   It just gets worse (or better I should say) from here until Thanksgiving.  :)

Wednesday evening I finally got to meet with the Weaver’s and we had a great time at the park.  They have an awesome park near their home that has lots of wonderful photo opportunities.  Of course it didn’t hurt that they were a completely adorable family and I loved how their outfits coordinated without matching.  Of course, I always love polka dots so………

Don’t forget to scroll down to the next post and see the one from their session that I posted last night.

So often parents tend to focus on the kids when I do a family session.  I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard “if we can just get ONE good family picture and then some of the kids I’ll be happy.”  Well, if that’s all I do then I’M not happy!  I think it’s important for mom and dad to get some good pictures of just the two of them.  I LOVE it when parents give me the chance to capture their love for each other……and not JUST for the kids.  Here is a great example.

I had a fun time with you guys!  I can’t wait to show you the rest of your pictures and find out what else we have in common. ;)

just couldn’t wait.

Here is one from my session last night.  There are more to come, but this one……..I just couldn’t wait any longer to post this one!
